Fetch Veterinary is excited to announce an opening for a Veterinary Technician in our Ophthalmology department. If you have a passion for helping pets with eye-related issues and a desire to work alongside a skilled team in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

In this role, you will be integral to our mission of providing exceptional care to our patients. You will assist our ophthalmologist in diagnosing and treating a variety of eye conditions, ensuring the best outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in performing eye examinations, diagnosing conditions, and planning treatments.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed.
  • Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care.
  • Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a veterinary technician program is preferred.
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred.
  • Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort handling a variety of animals.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work holidays and on-call shifts.
