Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is family-owned veterinary hospital and we are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team in Brandon, Florida. If you have a passion for helping pets with eye-related issues and a desire to work alongside a skilled team in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

  • Assist our board-certified Ophthalmologist in performing eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and planning treatments.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed.
  • Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care.
  • Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred.
  • Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus.
  • Ability to perform and monitor anesthesia.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort handling a variety of animals.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work holidays and on-call shifts.
