Vice President of Finance

The Vice President of Finance will manage and direct all aspects of the finance and information system functions of the organization. Direct reports include the Senior Accountant, Accounting Assistant, and Buyer. This position interacts with the senior managers, and supervisors from all departments within the plant and also frequently interacts with banking institutions, independent auditors/accountants, and computer vendors outside of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly internal financial statements and other reports as required to monitor the financial and operational performance of the company
  • Work with an independent accounting firm to ensure annual audited financial statements are prepared timely and accurately and to maintain proper internal accounting controls.
  • Work closely with the Network Administrator to maintain effective and economical company-wide information systems; work to maximize the company’s return on investments in information technology (hardware and software).
  • Implement and enforce company policies that safeguard company assets.
  • Establish financial and operating metrics. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports of the metrics. Work closely with Operations to monitor and adjust the metrics as needed. Ensure timely reporting of the metrics as required.
  • Establish and maintain accurate cost data including annual updates of raw material, labor and overhead standards and the planning and coordinating of the annual physical inventory.
  • Plan and monitor company cash flow.
  • Supervise staff: including training, assigning, and directing of work and appraising performance.
  • Work with Human Resources to monitor company retirement plans and corporate insurance coverage.
  • Maintain relationship with bankers to keep the cost of capital low


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of experience with three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in an ERP environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of accounting.
  • CPA or CMA designation desirable.
