About the Role

The Vice President of Engineering will lead the Civil Engineering Department, combining strategic leadership, project management, and technical expertise. This position requires overseeing project execution, building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing a high-performing team to drive success and growth within the civil engineering market.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the engineering team to foster a collaborative and growth-focused culture.
  • Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while implementing effective quality control measures.
  • Manage project budgets, client billing, and accounts receivable efforts.
  • Provide technical guidance in areas such as stormwater management, drainage, utility infrastructure, and traffic engineering.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as environmental standards.
  • Support recruitment efforts and mentor junior engineers to encourage professional development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field (required).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida (required).
  • A minimum of 10 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering design software.
  • Expertise in stormwater and drainage design, utility planning, and traffic engineering.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record in budget and schedule management.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead client and team meetings effectively.
