Summary

The Vice President of Manufacturing provides strategic direction and hands-on leadership across all production facilities. This executive role is responsible for aligning manufacturing operations with company growth objectives through innovation, technology adoption, and continuous improvement. The VP partners cross-functionally with Sales, Product Development, Supply Chain, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure production capacity, cost efficiency, and quality standards meet business goals. This leader will drive modernization efforts, oversee sustainability initiatives, and develop future manufacturing leaders through coaching, mentorship, and workforce planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with executive leadership to align production with sales forecasts, product development, and market demand
  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, and Supply Chain to ensure manufacturing supports customer demand and product launches
  • Coordinate with Finance on cost management, capital projects, and fiscal budgeting
  • Work with Customer Service and Product Development to improve responsiveness and design-for-manufacturability
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) to increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency
  • Provide coaching, development, and mentorship to site leaders and frontline employees
  • Build a culture of accountability, safety, and frontline engagement through active floor presence
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
  • Align production planning processes with customer demand, forecasts, and capacity constraints
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs, SOPs, and productivity improvement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain strict quality measures that meet industry and customer standards
  • Own full P&L responsibility for Operations
  • Lead data-driven management using dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics
  • Partner with HR on workforce planning, succession planning, and employee engagement


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including multi-site or multi-functional manufacturing teams
  • Strong strategic planning and executive-level leadership capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
  • Proven experience implementing and sustaining Lean manufacturing systems (JIT, Six Sigma, CI)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and achieve operational performance targets
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
