What Youll Do
The Vice President, Planning will be responsible for driving financial results that maximize sales, profitability, and inventory productivity for the North America Online channel. Leading and developing a high-performance team of Planners, the VP will oversee the development and successful execution of the planning processes and efficiencies, refining and managing a transparent end-to-end process that improves our productivity and drives collaboration and trust between the function and the brand teams and leaders. The ideal candidate will have experience driving transformation of tools and processes, including the ability to build and scale new processes that are dynamic and data driven, increasing overall productivity. You will
  • Lead strategic planning & estimate process across brand portfolio for the North America Online division
  • Develop and deploy forecasting models and algorithms that are dynamic and data driven, scaling efficiencies across required metrics; build multi-channel processes that are best-in-class, leveraging data driven inputs to deliver cost savings and productivity
  • Drive the process throughout budget season in developing topline sales & bottoms up merchandise plans that align with each brand strategy, focusing on maximizing all areas of business opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with brand leads to ensure the merchandising and forecasting activities are strategically aligned to commercial programming in order to optimize sales and achieve sales targets. Have a strong pulse on category shifts and trends.
  • Develop precise projections and forecasts, partnering with supply chain to ensure that accurate orders are placed and weeks of supply are closely managed to avoid excess while also not missing sales opportunities due to out-of-stock
  • Lead the development and implementation of best-in-class planning practices including process, systems, and tools. Lead initiatives that best analyze and manage sales performance, maximizing margin and optimizing inventory investments
  • Oversee, in partnership with finance and ecommerce brand leads, the management of the LE process; drive strategic discussions with various teams, identifying risks and opportunities, facilitating conversations in order to derive the most accurate estimate. Negotiate and/or facilitate conversations as needed if a consensus on an estimate cannot be reached.
  • Build collaborative relationships, leveraged to gain consensus on annual sales plans and alignment for weekly/monthly business reviews on adjustments to estimates and risk mitigation
  • Develop plans and strategies with the intention to maximize productivity and commercial programming efficacy, minimizing inventory liability (manage inventory assortment, optimize stock levels, sell-through rates, gross margin etc.)
  • Oversee the development of KPIs and deliver insightful and actionable reporting; provide weekly reporting/analysis by channel/product and provide recommendations for immediate actions, monitor financial performance against targets and take proactive measures to address any deviations, and analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive landscape to make data-driven decisions regarding assortment and promotionality
  • Strong alignment with global marketing/demand planning/ecommerce teams on key investments towards new product launches. Being highly strategic about when to make the big bets and where it makes sense to reduce risk on inventory investment, curating contingency plans for strong sell thru.

Qualifications

You have
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Marketing or other relevant discipline, MBA preferred
  • 15+ years combined experience in at least two of the following: financial analysis, forecasting, supply chain, and/or marketing required
  • Deep retail math acumen, including elements of markup, margin planning, open to buy, inventory productivity measures (WOS, T/O, GMROI), master's understanding of budget frames

  • Advanced communication and presentation skills; extensive exposure to Sr. Management

  • Ability to multitask and achieve deadlines in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner

  • Demonstrated record of prioritizing, influencing and decision making at multiple levels in an organization
  • Demonstrated record of successfully working with Senior Management in Marketing, Sales and Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated experience in creative problem solving
  • Excellent leadership, collaboration, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Experience working in a matrix organization

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $204,000 to $348,500. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
