VoIP Engineer (Cisco Unified Communications)

Systems Integration & Development (SID) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in Rockville, MD and is currently seeking a talented VoIP Engineer specializing in Cisco Unified Communications. This is a full-time position available onsite (hybrid) in New Carrollton, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications solutions, including VoIP, video, and collaboration technologies.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Cisco call processing, VoIP quality, and network integration.
  • Provide Level 3 support for Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and associated applications.
  • Manage and optimize network performance to ensure reliable and high-quality VoIP communications.
  • Ensure all security policies/GSP/IRM mandates are met/implemented correctly on network devices, best practices are implemented
  • Collaborate with the network engineering team to address connectivity and configuration issues.
  • Conduct regular system health checks and maintain documentation for all telephony systems.
  • Assist in user training and support for Cisco telephony tools and applications.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with VoIP technologies, specifically Cisco Unified Communications.
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, and related Cisco VoIP applications.
  • Experience with troubleshooting VoIP systems and network performance issues.
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, spanning tree, subnetting, routing, access control lists, wireless, VPN, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and firewall operations.
  • Familiarity with SIP, RTP, and related telephony protocols.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNA Voice or CCNP Collaboration are highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in a federal environment is a plus.
