Location: Brewster, WA 98812

Assignment Start Date: 9/4/2024

13 weeks | Days | 12-hour shift | 20 hours guaranteed /weekly

The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed number of hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please contact a recruiter for full details.

Provides professional nursing care for assigned patients in the emergency room. Triages each patient and determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs as well as factors influencing patient flow through the emergency care system. Performs focused assessment of chief complaints of each patient promptly according to established triage guidelines. An emergency nurse must have the ability to make quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions.

  • Provides safe and effective nursing care to the emergency room patient and/or outpatient.
  • Provide direct patient care including but not limited to medication administration, transferring patients and assisting with activities of daily living, wound management, line/tube/drain management, performing and assisting with procedures, and ensuring patient safety.
  • Provides or assists with the initiation and maintenance of accurate concise records.
  • Communicates in a timely fashion, any pertinent assessment findings to the Providers.
  • Carries out provider orders.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
  • Administer medications while following the Five Medication Rights to help reduce the potential for medical errors.
  • Scans medications per protocol except in emergencies.
  • Interact with patients, families, co-workers, and Providers with respect, dignity, and empathy.
  • Identify and address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families or caretakers.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served.
  • Document patient care according to standards and policies.
  • Follow hospital policy when disposing of biohazardous materials, labeling, and handling all materials.
  • Will handle and be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by supervising personnel.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of RN experience is required with an ER focus;

Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:

  • Current Washington State license license with the following verifications.
  • Must have Current ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS & TNCC Certifications

EMR System: CPSI/Evident experience preferred

Shift: Day Shift: 7:00 pm - 7:30 am; 12-hour shifts. Rotating days may include some weekends.
