Warehouse Assistant - Lynchburg

Duties involve activities associated with the receiving, storage and distribution of food products including packing orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, operating warehouse equipment plus general maintenance and clean-up.

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is seeking a full-time Warehouse Assistant for their Lynchburg, VA warehouse. Duties involve activities associated with the receiving, storage and distribution of food products including packing orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, operating warehouse equipment plus general maintenance and clean-up.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Warehouse distribution experience performing order picking duties.
- Minimum of six months experience operating motorized equipment that includes operating forklifts and pallet jacks. Stand-up rider experience is a plus.
- Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Successful applicant must have a valid VA drivers license with a good driving record.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with volunteers and staff.
- Ability to work independently and with detail in an accurate manner.
- Individual must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new data applications.
This role is full-time, based in the Lynchburg branch. The hours for this role are Monday-Friday 8:00 am 4:30 pm.
