EMI Services is hiring a Wastewater Collections Crew Leader with advanced knowledge of plumbing for sewer and storm water systems to supervise and lead a crew of 6-8 personnel in inspection, maintenance, monitoring, and repair of sewer and storm water systems including pipes, manholes, catch basins, alarms, and lift stations. The ideal EMI Services Wastewater Collections Crew Lead has lift and pump station experience and the ability to train subordinates.

Salary

Starting at $37.57 depending on experience plus $4.57 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401K!

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the performance of inspections cleaning, maintenance of stormwater catch-basins, culverts, lift stations, drains, and pipes
  • Plan, execute, and supervise lift station bypass and monitoring during power outages to include pumping down lift stations, employing backup generators and bypass pumps
  • Evaluate, plan and execute emergency and routine repairs on wastewater and stormwater systems
  • Monitor H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) levels for effluent twice per day to ensure effluent is maintained within required H2S limits and record and report readings
  • Operate camera to conduct surveys of sewer and storm water systems
  • Provide detailed reports of completed inspections, cleaning, and repairs
  • Supervise the performance of clearing blockages of sewer and storm water lines
  • Plan shift rotations and perform in a standby (on-call) status and work during wet weather

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience with the maintenance of lift and pump stations that includes repair, maintenance, and replacement
  • 5+ years experience in a leading and supervising role with the ability to train subordinates
  • Class A (CDL) Driver’s License or Class B with tanker certification
  • Speak and understand English to effectively communicate with fellow employees, customers, and vendors
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications to communicate and create documents for job execution
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
  • Regular, dependable attendance
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA Wastewater 1 or 2 Certification
  • NASSCO- PACP | LACP | MACP - Pipeline, Lateral and Manhole Assessment Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort
  • Some combination of climbing and balancing to include climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Some lifting to include overhead lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (10-20 pounds)
  • May occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 50 pounds)
