To be successful in this role, you must have 5-10 years of managing wayfinding projects specifically within the transportation, education, healthcare, and city sectors. A demonstrated track record of leading and executing profitable projects while building talent capacity is needed, along with high standards of organization, strong customer service skills, a positive and solutions-focused attitude, and a drive for success. A successful project manager will enjoy contributing to team collaboration and building client relationships while taking ownership of their work and taking pride in delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large scale multiple projects and clients simultaneously
  • Establish and implement project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in line with company policies
  • Management of the entire project lifecycle from definition/scope through implementation
  • Act as a technical resource for the project team and lead design review meetings
  • Lead client communication and coordination including issuing agendas, notes, and schedules
  • Coordinate and prioritize project needs, resources, and information internally and with the client project teams to move the project forward
  • Identify required and optional changes in project scope and negotiate changes with clients as warranted or best practices suggest
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle; including coordinating with clients, vendors, and other project partners
  • Work with the Principal and New Business Coordinator, contributing to the technical direction of new business proposals including project scope, budget, and timeline
  • Work with the Principal and Finance Director to assess and discuss the optimization of project finances and opportunities

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Wayfinding Project Management experience required
  • Proven success in delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, with high attention to detail, with outstanding organizational skills
  • Experience with and enjoyment of face-to-face interaction with clients
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and is resourceful, with an eagerness to contribute, learn, adapt, and grow
  • An open, positive, and empathetic personality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to clients
  • Consistently demonstrate him/herself professionally and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws
  • Ability to successfully lead others; including but not limited to planning, assigning and directing work, resolving problems, training and developing a team, and participating in knowledge transfer
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office programs, and Google Suite Applications.
  • This is a full-time hybrid position however you must have easy access to New York City and the surrounding area as local travel to meetings or site visits will not be reimbursed.

Nice to Have

  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with Asana and ProjectManager.com

Required Background

  • Bachelors degree in design, business management, communications, or related discipline
  • 5-10 years of experience with a wayfinding design firm or at an architecture firm working specifically on wayfinding projects.
  • Understanding of architectural drawings, scale, product materials, and implementation options
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
