Positional Overview
The Imagine Group is recruiting for a Welder/Fitter on behalf of our client, a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialized materials and solutions, with a strong presence in North Tonawanda, New York.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding on metal components in accordance with blueprints and technical specifications. You will inspect finished welds for quality and safety, maintain welding equipment, and work closely with production teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and to required standards.
Role & Responsibility:
Tasks That Will Lead to Your Success
- Fabrication of pressure vessels, structural skids, piping, etc.
- Joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weld-able material by applying appropriate welding techniques and fitting.
- Laying out and fabricating precision welds and elements from blueprints and engineering concepts.
- Welding to ASME code and 100% x-ray.
- Inspecting completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Working independently or as part of a team while making sound decisions and solving technical problems.
- Performing all job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Performing other functions/duties as required.
- Follow all lawful employer safety and health rules and regulations, and wear or use required protective equipment while working.
- Report hazardous conditions to the employer.
- Report any job-related injury or illness to the employer and seek treatment promptly.
Skills & Experience
Qualifications That Will Help You Thrive
- Experience with metal fabrication.
- Must be able to read/interpret P&ID’s, schematics, engineered drawings.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required.
- Relevant experience includes assembly of components.
- Must be proficient with regards to ASME B31.3 Code requirements.
- Will be required to demonstrate welding proficiency: pulse MIG, STT, TIG, X-Ray, etc.
