We are hiring experienced WELDERS! Do you have experience or schooling in welding? Our starting rate is $26.00 per hour when you include the $2.00 shift differential for working 2nd shift. UTC Railcar Repair Services LLC | A Marmon Rail Company is a full-service railcar repair shop in Sayre, Pennsylvania. Our site was established in 1977. We are currently hiring 2nd shift WELDERS. Standard operation is Monday through Friday, from 2:00 pm to 10:05 pm. In this position, our employees are responsible for measuring, straightening, fit-up, torch cutting, and welding of various types and sizes of metal as well as basic repairs to the railcars. These repairs are complete both inside and outside of the railcars.
Position: WELDER / CAR REPAIR
Description of Duties / Qualifications:
- Must pass the applicable welding tests as required
- Must demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of car repair and maintenance to include measuring, straightening, fit-up, torch cutting, and welding of various types and sizes of metal
- Other assigned duties may entail (if specifically trained and qualified) touch up paint, caulking, operating cut-off saws, forklifts, mobile switch engine, overhead and portable cranes
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass a Company skill assessment test
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stoop for extended periods and routinely move from kneeling to standing position
- Must be able to wear a respirator
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface
- Must be able to climb ladders and perform work at elevated heights
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to pass Company physical exam
- Must be able to pass alcohol and drug testing
- Must be able to pass vision acuity test
General Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now and in the future
