Welding Supervisor Apply
JOB SUMMARY
The Welding Supervisor plans, directs and coordinates the production activities within the forming, welding and paint department to achieve maximum profitability and growth. Works closely with area leads to train, direct and coach team members to improve efficiency, consistency, safety and overall quality standards. Responsible for meeting or exceeding KPI’s and metrics as established by management by fulfilling the following duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directs and coordinates production activities with scheduling, engineering, maintenance and quality to obtain optimum production and equipment utilization.
· Mentors’ department leads on task completion in specific areas, such as job reporting accuracy, employee review timeliness, on-time delivery, and attendance/timekeeping reports.
· Reviews nonconformances with engineering and quality to establish root cause, eliminating future defects
· Maintains skill matrix, promotes all required training programs necessary to team members for company and personal improvement.
· Organizes and drives continuous improvement within departments
· Leads and promotes a safety conscious environment
· Maintains knowledge of and enforces all supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, procedures and applicable laws.
· Performs tasks with the assistance of the Plant Manager as needed, to effectively maintain departmental staff; such as:
- interviewing and training
- investigating and resolving employee issues
- conducting performance reviews
· Additional responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES
· Excellent communication skills required to effectively communicate in both oral and written form and interact with all levels of the company.
· Excellent computer skills to effectively generate reports and input required data.
· Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
· Excellent organizational skills required to complete work assignments and prioritize urgent matters.
· Must be organized and able to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
· Ability to read and interpret drawings including GD&T and weld symbols
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
· Must possess 7 years of sheet metal / fabrication work experience.
· Past welding experience is a requirement
· Forming and powder coating management experience is beneficial
· Bachelor's Degree is preferred or Equivalent experience (Certification, formal training, etc.) preferred
