JOB DESCRIPTION:

Hanover Township Youth and Family Services is currently accepting applications for a YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT/DRIVER (Part-Time). The Department is seeking highly motivated and creative individuals to assist with after school programs, which serve youth ages 5-18 throughout the Hanover Township area and assist in transportation to programs.


The candidates will help develop, supervise, and increase teen-specific programs and activities for Hanover Townships Youth Center which is located in Elgin, Illinois and provide transportation to and from the facility.


Additionally, the candidate is responsible for providing assistance at the Hanover Townships Open Gym Program which is a combination of recreational, educational and social activities that takes place in safe, supervised school and park district facilities.


The YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT/DRIVER (Part-Time) will operate a Township vehicle and is responsible for picking up participants from schools and transporting them to Hanover Township program sites.


Candidates must have the ability to interface effectively with diverse populations of youth, have a strong sense of self, self-awareness, and confidence. This position requires high energy and a friendly demeanor, while keeping youth safe and involved in programming.


  • The non-exempt position has a pay rate of $16.00 per hour.
  • The position is scheduled for approximately 25 hours per week Monday Friday and must be available from 1:30 to 6:30pm.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid Illinois drivers license.
  • Ability to work regular evenings and occasional weekends as requested.
