JOB SUMMARY
The Youth Services Provider drives from home to home in a single shift to assist youths (up to age 17) with varying intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position provides respite, but will occasionally provide cares depending on the individual served. This program is focused largely on skill building. The Youth Services Provider will primarily be working within the individuals homes, but there may be times when they take the individuals into the community.

LOCATION
On-site in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Supervises and directs educational, recreational, intellectual, competency development, and pro-social activities for youth.
  • Provides support and respite to parents/caregivers.
  • Cooperates and maintains clear communication with parents, social service agencies, social workers, schools.
  • Maintains discipline and adheres to the rules and regulations pertaining to the policies and procedures.
  • Provides transportation for youth individuals to appointments and recreational activities.
  • Remains educated on and maintains compliance with the rules and regulations.
  • Advocating, addressing and educating on the youths' interests, influences and issues.
  • Providing guidance and support to youths through teaching and mentoring.
  • Maintaining confidential records of sessions with the individuals.
  • Being a positive role model for individuals, employees, co-workers, and management.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Introductory Training Period, Attendance, Workplace Safety, Employee Appearance and Hygiene, Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation, Rights and Grievance for Individuals in Services, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Harassment.
  • Treating employees, management, and individuals with dignity and respect, including honest and respectful communication.
  • Upholding the values of Balance, Excellence, Success, Tradition, Communication, Adaptation, Respect and Encouragement at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working with youth is preferred.
  • Experience as a babysitter is ideal.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
  • Must be willing to perform hands-on cares.
  • Valid Driver's license and automobile insurance.
  • Ability to maintain composure and exercise good judgment in a variety of environments including normal working conditions and high stress situations.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for youth individuals and provide positive direction and supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, parents, social workers, public defenders, juvenile intake workers, school personnel, mental health professionals, and other providers both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records, and prepare clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Must operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, computer terminal, calculator, telephone, fax, Electronic Monitoring and security equipment.
  • Ability to operate a variety of household appliances including dishwasher, microwave, clothes washer and dryer, vacuum cleaner, etc.
  • Recognize and respond to individuals' health needs.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 9-hour shift; every other weekend availability.
