The Database Administrator is responsible for overseeing the management, maintenance, and support of all databases within the environment (SQL Server, Progress, Oracle, etc.), including backup and recovery strategies, collaboration with MSP and development teams, and performance tuning. Responsibilities Develop and implement database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies. Plan and execute database and server upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime. Manage, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure high availability and reliability. Serve as the DBMS subject‑matter expert with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to support application development and troubleshooting. Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and system resource management while maintaining high availability. Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve performance and reliability issues. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience. 5‑10+ years as a Database Administrator in a production environment (SQL Server and Progress DB required). Expertise in SQL Server (2014/2019/2022/2025/MI) configuration, administration, maintenance, and optimization. Hands‑on experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning. Understanding of cloud‑based databases is a plus. Experience with Windows operating system is a plus. Experience with VM/Cloud environments is a plus. PowerShell and DBA automation skills are a plus. AI‑assisted operations and script optimization are a plus. Previous experience leading complex information security projects. Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Willingness to travel, including international travel. Location: Onsite – Charlotte, NC (South End) Office. #J-18808-Ljbffr
