About the role

DNV Business Assurance group is seeking an Aviation, Space & Defense Technical Manager to join our Global Technical Hub.

The AS&D Manager will be responsible to manage a team of Global Technical Hub (GTH) Technical Reviewers for the Certification process approved through American National Accreditation Board (ANAB). GTH United States provides reliable, technical review/evaluation of documentation submitted by AS&D Auditors for compliance and conformity to recognized international, national, and technical standards. The roll will be a full-time position and will be responsible for supporting accreditation related activities.

What You'll Do

  • Review and approve quotes for AS&D potential clients under the ANAB accreditation process
  • Assign AS&D projects through the online NGPS process
  • Ensure that the work is performed in accordance with the quality requirements of the activity, the instructions of the Global Compliance Manager, and the procedures governing the activities
  • Perform technical reviews for the assigned schemes for clients working under US ANAB based accreditations
  • Report back and revert non-compliances to relevant parties, including escalation when needed
  • Provide assistance in the form of issue resolution, as well as interpretation of relevant standards and requirements
  • Ensure that the independent nature of the certification scheme is never compromised
  • Address and respond to Customer Complaints and Appeal
  • Approve and maintain auditor competency codes
  • Provide support and feedback to auditors and market units
  • Create and provide training to GTH, Auditors, and Global Market Units
  • Approve, suspend, or withdraw certificates as required with coordination of the Technical Review Team
  • Managing other technical tasks, including but not limited to managing external witness audits by ANAB and Other Party Management Organizations
  • Evaluate performance and set up targets for the Team
  • Ensure accurate, timely and high-quality service, including KPI management

What is Required

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in Technical, Quality & Compliance
  • Bachelors degree
  • Proven management experience in leading and developing teams
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Aviation, Space & Defense industry preferably with experience covering various types of industry (e.g. AS9100, AS9110, AS9120)
  • Ability to represent the company by participating in audits with external accreditation bodies
  • Ability to use analytical data in order to monitor and drive performance excellence
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to interpret and present highly complex and strategically significant information
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Pre-employment drug and background screening
  • Ability and willingness to travel when required
  • Support and represent DNV at IAQG, AAQG, etc. meetings as required
  • Optimism, creativity, and passion to make a difference
  • Preferable to be an IAQG Authenticated AEA; and be identified in the OASIS Database as such
  • US Citizen or Green Card Holder
