Assistant Controller

**Assistant ControllerLocation: Lancaster, OH****Position Overview:**This role is within a manufacturing company serving the automotive industry. The Assistant Controller will oversee and manage the organization’s financial operations, providing hands-on accounting support while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance. The role requires direct involvement in day-to-day financial activities, including month-end closing and journal entries, and contributes to effective financial planning and control across the organization.**Key Responsibilities:**Manage and maintain accurate and timely accounting records in compliance with corporate policies and standardsOversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close processesPrepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reportsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processesDevelop and maintain financial control systems to safeguard assets and monitor operationsCollaborate with other departments to ensure financial data supports business operations and decision-makingEnsure consistent, accurate, and relevant management information for leadership and audit purposesDrive continuous improvement within the finance function and support operational managers in financial processesKey Qualifications / Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotiveHands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, payroll, budgeting, and forecastingPractical experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plusProficiency with Microsoft Office and general financial analysis skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to collaborate across teams**Disclaimer: **By submitting your application for this position, you are agreeing to receive communication from Cannon Jeffries Search Group, which may include calls, texts, and emails.
