Job Advert — Associate Director / Director, Biostatistics (Oncology)About the RoleWe’re partnering with an innovative, fast-growing biotech company advancing cutting-edge therapies in oncology. As they continue to scale, they are seeking a hands-on Associate Director (or emerging Director) of Biostatistics to play a critical role in shaping clinical development strategy and building statistical excellence from the ground up.This is not a “plug-and-play” role in a large, process-heavy organisation. It’s an opportunity for someone who thrives in a smaller, evolving environment, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to directly influence how a function grows.What You’ll DoAct as lead statistician across clinical programs, driving study design and analysisPartner closely with clinical, regulatory, data management, and programming teamsDesign innovative trial methodologies and author protocols and SAPsInterpret and communicate data to inform decision-making and strategyContribute to regulatory documentation and interactionsSupport and guide statistical programming activities (SDTM/ADaM)Help build and refine biostatistics processes, standards, and infrastructureOperate with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced, collaborative settingWhat We’re Looking For:Must-HavePhD in Biostatistics or related scientific disciplineStrong foundation in core statistical methods for clinical trialsAbility to apply statistical thinking flexibly across different problemsExperience in oncology drug development (hematology highly valued)Confident communicator who can influence cross-functional teamsComfortable working independently and hands-onNice-to-HaveExposure to Bayesian methods and/or real-world evidenceExperience supporting regulatory submissions (not essential)Ideal ProfileCurrently at Senior Manager / Associate Director level, or a new Director still hands-onMotivated by science and impact, not just title progressionBrings creativity, initiative, and confidence to shape a growing functionThrives outside rigid structures and enjoys building rather than inheritingNot overly reliant on large-company infrastructure or defined processesLocation & Working ModelBoston area (strong preference for local candidates)Hybrid: typically 2–3 days onsite (Burlington area)Flexibility week-to-week, but remote candidates cannot be consideredWhy This Role?Direct influence on clinical strategy and decision-makingOpportunity to build and shape biostatistics capabilityWork in a highly collaborative, science-driven environmentJoin a company at a stage where your impact is visible and meaningful
