Shift Schedule Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PMWe are seeking a motivated Audio/Visual (AV) Support Assistant to provide day-to-day technical support for conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and corporate events. This role is ideal for someone with 0 3 years of AV or technical support experience who enjoys working with technology, solving problems, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Working closely with the Senior AV Manager, you'll help ensure meeting spaces are fully operational by setting up, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment while supporting both in-person and hybrid meetings using Microsoft Teams and other collaboration platforms.
Key Responsibilities AV Equipment Setup & Support - Set up, configure, and test AV equipment for conference rooms and event spaces, including:
- Displays and projectors
- Microphones
- Speakers
- Mixers
- Cameras
- Laptops
- HDMI adapters
- Clickers and presentation accessories
- Ensure meeting rooms are fully prepared prior to scheduled meetings and events
- Assist with room reconfigurations and equipment setup for special events
- Meeting & Event Support
- Provide on-site and remote support for:
- In-room meetings
- Virtual meetings
- Hybrid meetings
- Assist presenters with:
- Audio setup
- Video connectivity
- Screen sharing
- Presentation equipment
- Microsoft Teams meeting support
- Support live streaming and recording activities, including camera setup and audio testing
- Technical Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot common AV issues, including:
- No audio
- Microphone issues
- Audio feedback
- HDMI/display connection problems
- Camera positioning
- Teams Room issues
- Display connectivity
- UC Engine functionality
- Network or streaming interruptions
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior AV specialists when necessary
- Conference Room Maintenance
- Perform daily and weekly room readiness checks
- Verify functionality of:
- Displays
- Controllers
- Cameras
- Microphones
- Speakers
- Peripheral devices
- Complete preventive maintenance and basic system configuration updates
- Report recurring issues and recommend improvements to enhance room reliability
- Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain AV inventory, including:
- HDMI adapters
- Cables
- Batteries
- Microphones
- Accessories
- Ensure equipment is charged, labeled, clean, and stored properly
- Track incidents, service requests, and resolutions using a ticketing system
- Document troubleshooting activities and follow-up actions
- Customer Service
- Deliver outstanding technical support to employees and meeting participants
- Clearly communicate technical instructions to non-technical users
- Maintain professionalism while supporting executives, employees, and visitors
- Follow safety practices for equipment handling, cable management, and workspace organization
- Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- 1+ year of customer-facing experience in:
- Audio/Visual Support
- IT Help Desk
- Event Support
- Technical Support
- Related field
- Working knowledge of:
- HDMI and DisplayPort connections
- Conference room AV systems
- Microphones
- Speakers
- Cameras
- Basic audio mixers
- Experience supporting collaboration platforms such as:
- Microsoft Teams
- Zoom
- Webex
- Basic PC and Mac troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms
- Experience with conference room technologies and UC (Unified Communications) systems
- Familiarity with:
- UC Engines
- HDMI adapters
- Line minders
- AV displays
- Conference room controllers
- Previous IT Help Desk or Event Support experience
- Experience supporting hybrid meetings and live events
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable setting up conference rooms and event spaces
- Ability to move equipment and perform physical setup tasks
- Willingness to work occasional evenings for scheduled events
