Description

Job Summary:

Under general direction from Clinical Research Education and Career Development (CRECD) Principal Investigator / Program Director (PI/PD), responsible for the general administration of the CRECD Program, as well as mentoring in the area of biostatistics and scientific publication.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the implementation of the CRECD Program.
  • Collaborate with CRECD Scholars in the development of analytical strategies, conduct of data analysis, and preparation of peer-reviewed scientific publications.
  • Mentor CRECD Scholars in the area of data analysis toward development of grant proposals and their overall career development.
  • Identify appropriate measures for achievement of CRECD Program objectives.
  • Prepare the annual budget, budget justification, and budget modifications as needed.
  • Monitor budget expenditures and variances.
  • Prepare Annual Progress Reports for NIH.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the Board of Trustees.
  • Recruit new Scholars for the CRECD Program and manage the application review process.
  • Manage the CRECD Advisory Committee (CAC) by preparing agendas, sending out the call to the meeting, and keeping minutes.
  • Manage the CRECD Pilot Program.
  • Mentor CRECD Scholars to ensure and track their progress.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Regionally accredited doctoral degree (PhD) or equivalent.
  • An MBA degree or other certification in business/financial administration is desirable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three to Five years in conducting research in a University setting.
  • Biostatistical analysis for peer-reviewed scientific publications.
  • Mentoring students.
  • Familiarity with school programs.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY/SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and schedule various office activities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good grammatical and writing skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook.

COMPLEXITY:

  • The ability to perform highly detailed work with sustained attention and care while providing/obtaining information on numerous inquiries is paramount to success in this position.
