About the Role:
A growing commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the continued expansion of its Healthcare division across Southern California. This is an outstanding opportunity for a relationship-focused sales professional with experience in healthcare or commercial construction to play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and contributing to the long-term growth of a respected organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, marketing, estimating, and project teams to build strong client relationships, generate new opportunities, and position the company as a trusted construction partner for healthcare and life sciences organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead business development initiatives within the healthcare and life sciences construction market.
- Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and industry partners.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities from initial outreach through contract execution.
- Build and manage a healthy sales pipeline while tracking activity and opportunities using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop winning proposals, presentations, and client strategies.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the healthcare construction sector.
- Achieve and exceed business development and revenue objectives while supporting the firm's strategic growth initiatives.
- Maintain long-term client relationships through exceptional communication and service.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of business development or sales experience, preferably within commercial construction or healthcare construction.
- Experience working with healthcare systems, medical facilities, life sciences organizations, or related clients.
- Strong network of industry contacts within healthcare construction is highly desirable.
- Commercial construction project management experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to generate leads, develop client relationships, and close new business opportunities.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Southern California as needed.
