Location: Dayton, Ohio
Duration: 12+ months
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer II to develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs supporting precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with CAD/CAM software, fixture design, and CNC programming while working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure efficient, high-quality manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for precision machining operations.
- Analyze engineering drawings, models, and specifications to determine machining strategies.
- Participate in pre-production planning to develop efficient manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain tooling lists, setup sheets, process documentation, and work instructions.
- Design fixtures and tooling required for machining operations.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to resolve programming and production issues.
- Support machining operations during setup, prove-out, and process validation.
- Work closely with Quality and Production teams to ensure parts meet customer and engineering specifications.
- Improve machining efficiency by optimizing cycle times, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Manage multiple programming projects while meeting production schedules and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to machinists and junior programmers.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, Trade School certification in CNC Machining, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of CNC programming and machining experience.
- Strong experience with CAD/CAM software such as Esprit, Mastercam, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Experience creating CNC programs for milling and turning operations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Experience designing machining fixtures and tooling.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and process optimization skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
