Construction Manager, Data Center Construction Job ID: 10386818 | Amazon Data Services, Inc. Location: VA, USA. As a Data Center Construction Manager you will be responsible for construction project management and oversight of construction‑related activities for new builds and general capital projects. You will own project scope, quality, schedule, and budget while working closely with partner teams such as Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning. Key Responsibilities Interface directly with construction general contractors throughout bidding, award, execution, and closeout phases. Conduct negotiations with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals with detail and accuracy. Create construction project scope and request for proposals. Perform financial analysis of construction projects. Manage construction projects aimed at increasing the resiliency of data centers. Conduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs associated with new or optimized data centers. Handle construction document management including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and invoicing. Maintain construction quality control standards. Record and report key construction metrics to team members and management. Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause failure analysis related to equipment failures. Provide leadership within the group and across internal and external teams that support the data center. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of construction management experience on large, complex projects involving large‑scale MEP plants. Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems. Experience with power management and power monitoring systems. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure. Knowledge of critical data center equipment and electrical diagrams. Experience with project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure. Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure. Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains. CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or PE (Professional Engineer) certification.
