Overview/ Job Responsibilities:

Sev1Tech is looking for a Cost Analyst (Mid-Level) to play a role on a very large program involving network, cybersecurity, and cloud operations and engineering support services to a government customer with a significant mission for security and public safety. The contract will encompass a wide range of tasks including but not limited to: Program Management; Monitoring, Analysis and Incident Response; Tier 3 Engineering and O&M; Field Engineering technical support; and Cloud operations.


The Cost Analyst (Mid-Level) were looking for will support maintaining a cost model for the OCIO customer, developing and improving charge-back analyses, and designing and developing dashboards and reports.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in weekly cost model and budget meetings, managing and assigning tasks and coordinating weekly project reports
  • Supporting improvements and regular updates to the cost model produced for the customer
  • Supporting detailed risk and uncertainty analysis, presenting risk-adjusted cost projections using Crystal Ball risk analysis software
  • Updating data inputs to include the latest requirement and spend plan data from CFIT and other sources
  • Applying data automations to improve the speed and frequency of updates to cost model pulls from CFIT spend and collection data
  • Supporting development and improvements of detailed charge-back analyses for tenant applications receiving NOSC services, including tenant-facing input calculators used to calculate costs for future tenants
  • Identifying key technical requirements that drive a tenants cost of usage, considering distinctions between core and add-on functionality and levels of service
  • Supporting customizations to provide customer-facing charge-back dashboards
  • Assisting in development of broader cost modeling capabilities for other OCIO customers.
  • Supporting improvements to existing data collection, data management and analysis capabilities, from collection and storage through data visualization using a commercial visualization tool
Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA or BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in the federal IT services industry
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit reporting requirements from customers
  • Experience working with more senior program leadership to develop budgets
  • Experience supporting budget forecasts
  • Experience working side-by-side with integrated project teams
  • Support development of initial planning documents, program & schedule breakdown structures, budget requirement analyses, and earned value guidance to program/Product Directors and integrated product teams
  • Provides support during review of contractor proposal submittals, including review of submitted hours, direct labor rates, overhead rates, other direct costs and general review of the contractor's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Experience supporting development of life cycle cost estimates
  • Experience supporting cost benefit analysis
  • Experience in use of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and other tools used for cost management and analysis
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Some experience using statistical analysis tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship in order to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • DHS experience and EOD clearance
