EMT/AEMT Course Coordinator

Location: Provo, UT

Status: Part-time

Hours: PRN, shifts Monday -Thursday, 7:00 a.m 11:00 a.m, or 3:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. 9:00 p.m

Pay / Hourly: $23.38

SUMMARY

As a Course Coordinator you are responsible for the oversight and instruction of EMT/AEMT classes. Your responsibilities will include: teaching courses; assisting with the required Utah Bureau of EMS and National Registry of EMT applications and testing paperwork; assisting with student recruitment, advisement, and job placement; attending meetings as needed; ensuring the courses being taught meet a professional standard; and performing all other duties as assigned.

*Please note, this position may require availability work at the Lehi campus when needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • The Course Coordinator creates, prepares, and delivers educational content appropriate to the local EMS system providers.
  • The Course Coordinator will also gain a basic knowledge of quality assurance processes and solution implementation.
  • Key essential functions of this position involve protocol development, procedure research, and accurate record tracking.
  • Assist with oversight of the program.
  • Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge base in the content area and in other relevant areas.
  • Ability to manage and instruct and/or refer students with learning disabilities and other special need (e.g. age, prior education, physical limitations)
  • Ability to access information about industry standards, community resources and issues, as well as relevant laws and regulations related to the program.
  • Participates in professional development plan, monitors and keeps current with industry requirement updates.
  • Sequences and paces lessons appropriately.
  • Plans instruction that is consistent with the program mission and goals.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Current EMT/AEMT license and certification with the State of Utah.
  • Current EMS Instructor Certification through the State of Utah, Office of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness (OEMSP)
  • Current EMS Course Coordinator Certification through the State of Utah, Office of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness (OEMSP)
  • Nationally Certified as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
  • Current American Heart Association BLS, First Aid Certification
