Engineering Manager – Product Development & Manufacturing

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team and drive product development from concept through production. This role requires a strong combination of technical leadership, manufacturing experience, and disciplined project execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers across mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing disciplines
  • Drive new product development (NPD) from concept through production launch
  • Manage multiple projects with clear priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Partner closely with manufacturing to ensure successful production execution
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and key stakeholders
  • Ensure seamless transitions from concept → engineering → production
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and performance

Required (Must-Haves)

  • Direct experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to manage new product development from design into production
  • Hands-on experience supporting the manufacturing floor (assembly, training, process support)
  • Prior people management experience with technical direct reports (hiring, coaching, performance management)
  • Experience balancing new development and sustaining engineering
  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or similar)
  • Strong project management skills, including scheduling, resource planning, and execution
  • Experience using structured tools (e.g., project plans, Gantt charts, tracking systems)
  • Experience working with OEM or customer-driven engineering projects
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface internally and externally

Preferred

  • Background in mechanical or electromechanical product design
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (gears, bearings, motion components, etc.)

Key to Success

  • Ability to take early design concepts and translate them into executable engineering plans
  • Ability to ensure designs are successfully transferred into manufacturing
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
