Full Stack Application Developer

Onsite in Manhattan | No-Visa Sponsorship Available Our tier one investment management client is seeking a talented Full Stack Application Developer to join their Information Technology department in New York. In this role, you will be responsible for internal software development, creating proprietary tools that support Portfolio Managers, Risk, Execution, Research, and other core business functions. Reporting directly to the Development Manager, you will play a key role in building the technical foundation for the firm’s operations. Primary Programming Languages Java Python SQL Frontend & Visualization React.js Infrastructure & Data AWS or GCP (Cloud-based deployments) Snowflake Key Responsibilities In this position, you will act as a bridge between complex business needs and elegant technical solutions. You will interact directly with Traders, Portfolio Managers, and Trade Support staff to understand their daily requirements and translate those needs into efficient, scalable software. You will be involved in every phase of the software development life cycle, from initial requirements analysis and design to development, testing, implementation, and long-term maintenance. Beyond coding, you will maintain a high level of user support, ensuring internal stakeholders have the tools and availability they need to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Strong skills with internal stakeholders communication is critical. Qualifications and Education The ideal candidate will hold a Graduate Degree from a top university in Computer Science, though our client will also consider degrees in Engineering, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines. You should have at least five years of relevant work experience, preferably within the financial services, banking, insurance industry or at a top‑tier technology firm. Technical Expertise Programming and Development Data and Infrastructure Strong experience with databases and SQL is required. Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based deployments and infrastructures, such as AWS or GCP, is essential. Familiarity with Snowflake is considered a significant plus.
