About the Role This Senior Software Engineer role sits within the Platform Service team in Salesforce's Digital Marketing Technology organization. The responsibilities encompass architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure we build products right and release them with high quality, working with world‑class engineers to deliver breakthrough features for our customers while maintaining a stable and scalable platform. Responsibilities Design and deliver high‑scale distributed systems and APIs supporting Salesforce’s global digital experiences. Operate effectively in an Agile and DevOps environment, ensuring quality in code and across engineering teams. Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and internal customers to build new features that are adopted and used at scale. Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and write unit/functional tests to increase code coverage and automation metrics. Evaluate and adopt modern technologies and AI‑assisted engineering workflows to improve developer productivity and software quality. Evolve platform capabilities that enable dynamic and personalized customer experiences globally. Qualifications 6+ years of professional software development experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining large‑scale, highly performant production services. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Experience in microservices architecture, domain‑driven design, and RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Experience building high‑scale microservices on AWS (preferred), GCP, or other public cloud platforms. Experience with AWS components such as API Gateway, Lambda, SNS, SQS, ElastiCache, AppSync, and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Neo4j, Neptune, Kafka, Kinesis). Experience developing backend software using JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js (preferred). Knowledge of web security, including JWT lifecycle management, CORS, CSP, and XSS prevention. AI fluency and proven experience using AI coding assistants (Cursor, Windsurf, Codex). Experience with test‑driven development and testing frameworks such as Jest or Playwright. Experience with service orchestration tools like Terraform (preferred). Experience implementing consumer/B2C identity packages such as Okta or Auth0 and knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
