Position Summary

Facilitators will lead the Healthy Living Program (HeLP) curriculum for parents, teens, and/or siblings weekly during each 6 - week, family-inclusive program.
There will be multiple, 6 - week programs offered annually.
Facilitators may be primarily responsible for leading one of the four curriculums used for HeLP, but will be expected to have facilitation competency for all curriculums over time.
Facilitators will be expected to participate in on-going training to improve skills.
Facilitators may also assist with the recruitment and retention of participants.


Required Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to facilitate discussion in a group setting
  • Interest in promoting health
  • Enjoys working with adults and youth of all ages
  • Builds trust with program participants
  • Familiarity with the community (county) in which the program is offered
  • Basic nutrition and physical activity knowledge
  • Ability to assist with set-up which may include lifting of items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Willingness to travel within the county to facilitate programs provided at different locations
  • Demonstrates patience while working with younger children.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher
  • Experience with culturally diverse groups
  • Demonstrated ability to be culturally responsive
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience as a role-mode, mentor, leader or coach working with youth.
