Job Title: IT System Administrator (Journey)
Location: Thurston County Tumwater, Washington (This position is fully on-site at our Tumwater location)
Closes: May 2nd, 2024
Salary: $6,939.00 - $9,332.00 Monthly

The Opportunity:
This position supports the mission of DCYF by managing all of the technical IT needs within all Divisions. The IT System Administrator utilizes knowledge of the agency's mission and standards to deliver expert-level technical planning, consultation, and direction for services and technology initiatives. They will also collaborate with other IT Area Technical Managers and DCYF senior technicians, to ensure technical plans, decisions, and implementation of technology solutions are consistent across the Department of Children Youth, and Family.

Some of what you will get to do:
  • Provides support including off-site support for troubleshooting hardware and/or software setup, conflicts, and difficulties for other DCYF offices statewide as needed.
  • Provides support for JR Institution and facilities for the integration of new technologies and mission-critical service initiatives.
  • Design, develop, implement, configure, and install systems/software and provide user support for Windows Server, Windows 10, Microsoft Office (all versions}, Dell & HP, and Meraki switch hardware, printers, and DSHS\\\\DCYF Active Directory.
  • Ensures all software, hardware, and projects conform to established IT Division, DCYF IT, and OCIO standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve telecommunication issues.
  • Plans, schedules, and performs hardware and software installs, repairs, and upgrades.
Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience as an IT Customer Service Journey equivalent or above within WA State.

OR
Four years of information technology experience in information as consulting, analyzing, designing, programming, technology analysis, system maintenance, or installing and/or maintaining computer software troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, applications, hardware, telecommunications, or network designing, or programming computer systems applications or infrastructure equipment, directing projects, providing databases will substitute for education on the basis of one customer or technical support in information technology.

OR
An Associate's degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in information technology or related program and six years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases.

OR
A Bachelor's degree including 9 semester or 15 quarter hours of computer science courses and five years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, troubleshooting/problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases.

In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess some or all of the following:
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office productivity software, and troubleshooting desktop issues.
  • Knowledge of FamLink case management system, ACT case management system, WaCompass licensing system
  • Previous demonstrated experience working in an agile environment.
  • Customer service experience in an Information Technology setting.
  • Professional experience with Active Directory.
  • Network infrastructure experience.
