JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is aDepartment Promotional Examinationand is open only to current eligible employees of theKern County Employees Retirement Association (KCERA)who have successfully completed their initial probationary period and received an overall rating of standard or better on the last employee performance report.

Salary:
Level I:$3,450.63 - $4,123.82 Biweekly
Level II:$3,812.61 - $4,556.42 Biweekly


Examinations:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of evaluating the applicant's training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the position. Appraisal can be based on any of the following: Investigation, oral exam and/or rating of the application.

Should an oral exam be necessary, the oral exam will be weighted 100%.

Qualified candidates will be notified of the testing date five days prior to the examination.



Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled date(s)/time(s)/location without exception.

Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on the examination.

Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards:

KCERA Network Manager:


  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree including fifteen (15) semester or twenty-five (25) quarter units in computer science or management information systems.
  • Two (2) years of paid experience in the oversight of complex network environments, hardware configurations and system software for an organization, one (1) year of which included supervising technical staff OR two (2) years of paid experience as a KCERA Senior Network Engineer.
  • Qualifying experience must have been within the last eight (8) years.

Possession of a valid California Drivers License upon appointment.


KCERA Senior Network Manager:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree including fifteen (15) semester or twenty-five (25) quarter units in computer science or management information systems
  • Four (4) years of paid experience in the oversight of complex network environments, hardware configurations and system software for an organization, one (1) year of which included supervising technical staff OR two (2) years of paid experience as a KCERA Senior Network Engineer.
  • Qualifying experience must have been within the last eight (8) years.

Possession of a valid California Drivers License upon appointment.
