Job Title: L2 Application Support Engineer - Mainframe
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract

Responsibilities:
Provide Level 2 production support for Mainframe-based Fund Accounting and US Transfer Agency applications.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues within defined SLAs.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive solutions.
Monitor application health, batch jobs, and system performance.
Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
Coordinate with business users, development teams, infrastructure teams, and upstream/downstream application owners.
Execute production deployments, job scheduling, and post-implementation validation.
Participate in on-call support, including occasional nights and weekends.
Maintain production support documentation, knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
Ensure compliance with IT operational standards and financial industry best practices.
Skills:
The role is an IT Support Analyst responsible for L2 production support for Fund Accounting and US Transfer Agency applications.
The position requires strong mainframe skills (JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM) and the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple technologies
The analyst will work closely with global teams, business partners, and upstream/downstream systems, handling incident management, root-cause analysis, and on-call support
The job requires 8 10+ years of technical experience in a financial environment, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
The role is Chicago-based, with at least 3 days per week onsite and occasional night/weekend support.
