Overview Insight Global is looking for a highly skilled PL/SQL Developer with deep hands-on experience building new database driven functionality and a strong understanding of how to create high quality user stories to join one of our financial clients in Charlotte, NC. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and delivers clean, reliable, high-performance PL/SQL code without the need for hand holding. You’ll be working with Oracle 19c in a private cloud environment, supporting financial technology sub ledger systems while contributing to new feature development and reporting solutions. This is a developer centric role, not a DBA position – HOWEVER, this role specifically requires someone who is highly proactive, driven, and confident working directly with financial business users to extract requirements and translate them into clear, actionable user stories. If you’re a self-driven engineer who enjoys designing and implementing business logic at the database layer and are confident to take on some analytical work to include working with end users and stakeholders to define actionable user stories, this is a strong opportunity to make an impact. This role is 3x onsite in Charlotte, NC. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. Collaborate with financial business users to extract requirements and translate them into clear, actionable user stories. Design and implement business logic at the database layer; contribute to reporting solutions and feature development. Maintain a developer-centric approach with minimal hand-holding, while delivering high-quality, high-performance code. Engage with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and ensure solutions meet business needs. Work directly in a fast-paced environment with proactive ownership and accountability. Operate in a private cloud Oracle environment and support sub-ledger systems. Qualifications 7+ years of hands-on PL/SQL development experience (flexible for exceptional candidates). Strong expertise in Oracle 19c, PL/SQL, and SQL performance tuning. Proven experience delivering new development, not just maintaining legacy code. Solid Oracle database development background (schemas, tables, indexing, constraints). Experience working in private cloud Oracle environments. Ability to design and implement solutions independently and deliver high-quality code with minimal oversight. Familiarity with using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity. Proven ability to work in fast-moving environments with quick issue turnaround. Ability to translate business needs into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and functional specifications. Create high quality user stories following Agile best practices (INVEST framework, acceptance criteria, workflows, etc.). Excellent communication is essential; experience with financial systems, sub-ledger architecture, or reporting platforms is preferred. Background in performance-heavy or mission-critical database environments. Experience modernizing or refactoring legacy PL/SQL codebases. #J-18808-Ljbffr
