Job Title: Principal Cloud Engineer - W2 Only - We can provide sponsorship Duration: Long Term Location: Westlake, TX - Hybrid - 2 weeks in a month onsite Must Have: Candidate should have some leadership experience Kafka databases Enabling the cloud competence (aerospike, connections, multiple pairings, PCP pairings, terraform) Python, Bash, Shell scripting (java would be nice to have) CICD pipeline, Jenkins and Docker are must haves Terraform will be required AWS How to securely connect with other components (stakeholder applications, monitor resources) The Expertise You Have 10+ years in technology roles with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. 5+ years building advanced CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and supporting distributed systems at scale. 1–2 years in AWS cloud development and migration; experience with resilient cloud platforms. 2–4 years in software development (Python, NodeJS, or Java) with emphasis on SDLC and automation. Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration. Strong Linux/Unix systems administration skills, including Bash scripting. Familiarity with distributed, highly concurrent service‑based architectures. The Skills You Bring Proficiency in automation using Python, Bash, and Shell scripting. Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and test automation (Jenkins, Ansible, Docker). Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation). Solid understanding of Linux/Unix internals, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of AWS and DevOps concepts. Knowledge of observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry). Ability to maintain scalability, resiliency, and implement advanced observability practices. Skilled in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident management under pressure. Effective communicator with ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborative mindset with a passion for learning and sharing procedures.
