Job Summary (List Format) Robotic Welding Engineer / Automation Technician

- Program, set up, and optimize robotic welding systems for production parts.
- Support commissioning and launch of new robotic welding cells, fixtures, and equipment.
- Create and modify robot programs using teach pendant and offline programming tools.
- Develop effective weld sequences to enhance part quality, cycle time, and efficiency.
- Adjust and validate welding parameters (voltage, wire feed speed, etc.).
- Troubleshoot robotic welding issues including weld defects and equipment faults.
- Perform robot calibration, TCP verification, touch-ups, and preventive maintenance.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams for product launches and production support.
- Review and assess fixture/tooling designs for robotic welding suitability.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for weld defects and process failures.
- Develop process documentation, setup sheets, SOPs, and training materials.
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (weld quality, OEE, scrap reduction).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and welding requirements.
- Requires 5+ years' experience with robotic welding systems and MIG/MAG welding.
- Proficiency with platforms like FANUC, ABB, Motoman/Yaskawa, KUKA, Panasonic, etc.
- Strong troubleshooting, technical, and documentation skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret weld symbols.
- Experience with fixture/tooling setup and lean manufacturing practices.
- Capable of independent, hands-on work in a manufacturing setting.
