Safety Compliance Manager Job Description gpac, a 30+ years recruitment company, is partnered with a well-established company in the Logistics and Transportation Warehouse industry. Our client company, a family-owned business with over 25 years of experience, is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Safety Compliance Manager to join their team. Responsibilities:


Establish strong rapport with all employees, specifically with drivers and warehouse employees

Implement and monitor all DOT/FMCSA regulations, expectations, training, and other required programs

Implement all OSHA standards and guidelines

Maintain all DQ files and records

Maintain and monitor organized and accurate DOT and OSHA records

Participate in any DOT/OSHA audits

Conduct routine safety audits of equipment, including commercial vehicles and forklifts

Maintain accurate and updated equipment lists

Maintain updated vehicle registrations, insurance, permits, and other necessary documents

Recruit, hire, and onboard new drivers

Administer new driver orientation, including following up with those individuals after they have completed all necessary steps

Manage and monitor all accident and injury reports, including scheduling and following up with appointments, police departments, medical professionals, and any other necessary parties

Investigate and ensure all accident and injury reports are completed in a detailed and timely manner

Manage and monitor all roadside inspection reports and citations - coaching, rewarding, and administering disciplinary action when necessary

Maintain updated records of CSA points for the company and drivers, coaching accordingly

Identify trends in performance measures, including CSA points and accidents, and devise strategies to improve, decrease, or eliminate

Regularly coach on accident prevention on the road and in the warehouse

Investigate any unsatisfactory roadside inspections and citations

Monitor and review hours of service with drivers

Conduct biannual safety meetings with all employees

Monitor all compliance items, including driver medical cards, licenses, drug tests, MVRs

Assist drivers and monitor ELDs

Maintain accurate employee records in software products, specifically FleetMentor, Samsara, JJ Keller, and any others

Remove all terminated employees from software programs in a timely manner

Train, coach, and develop the Safety Assistant

Available after hours for safety-specific needs and emergencies


Essential Job Functions:


  • Oversee and implement all safety and compliance based on DOT, FMSCA, OSHA, and other federal/state/local government guidelines
  • Build relationships with all employees to coach and enforce all safety standards
  • Maintain accurate and updated records, including DQ files, DOT and OSHA records, accident and injury reports, and roadside inspection reports
  • Conduct routine safety audits of equipment, including commercial vehicles and forklifts
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard new drivers
  • Coach and provide corrective action when necessary to improve safety performance
  • Conduct biannual safety meetings with all employees
  • Monitor and review driver compliance items, including medical cards, licenses, drug tests, and MVRs
  • Train, coach, and develop the Safety Assistant


Skills:


  • Strong knowledge of DOT, FMSCA, and OSHA regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
