Senior Information Technology Engineer At Community Action Opportunities (serving Western North Carolina), we do more than provide social services— we help families navigate out of poverty and build independent, thriving futures. We are looking for a visionary, hands‑on Senior IT Engineer that wants to use their advanced networking and systems architecture skills to directly impact your local community. Salary: Pay: $73,653.00 – $103,147.00 per year EOE and DFWP Position open until filled Provides technical expertise in the planning, implementation, administration and management of information technology systems and infrastructure to support and enhance agency operations. An employee in this class installs, upgrades, supports, configures, repairs and replaces stand‑alone and networked computers, communications, imaging and facility security hardware and software, as well as plans, organizes, develops and recommends agency‑wide information systems and computer operations. Work includes assisting the I.T. Director with identifying and analyzing individual and agency‑wide information technology needs, problems and requests, researching and identifying options and recommending cost‑effective approaches and solutions that enhance system performance and user productivity. Work requires extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows networks, IP networking and advanced critical thinking skills, the ability to clearly and respectfully communicate, orally and in writing, about technical matters to a variety of users, the ability to meet deadlines, exercise discretion and judgment, demonstrate enthusiasm and work individually and on teams. Education and Experience Graduation from a regionally‑ or CHEA‑accredited four‑year college or university with a Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience is required. Experience must include roles involving Managing or Administering systems and networks.
