Senior Java Developer

Senior Java Developer Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ and Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role is focused on designing, developing, and supporting high-performance, scalable microservices and event-driven applications for critical order management and trade processing platforms. The ideal candidate will leverage strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and Kafka to deliver resilient, production-ready solutions for high-volume transaction systems. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and support scalable microservices and event-driven applications Develop highly available and resilient enterprise solutions for high-volume financial and trading platforms Design and develop RESTful APIs Troubleshoot production database and application issues with strong debugging skills Utilize Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments Requirements: 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices architecture Strong SQL skills with experience in complex queries, joins, performance tuning, and data modeling Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or CockroachDB Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, partitioning, and event-driven architecture patterns Experience with asynchronous messaging and distributed systems Desired Skills: Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools Experience implementing resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover mechanisms Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
