I’m working with a growing manufacturer serving the biopharmaceutical industry that is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of complex plastic assemblies used in critical single-use bioprocessing applications.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys taking products from concept through commercialization while helping establish engineering standards, improving design practices, and mentoring others along the way.
What You’ll Do Lead the design and development of complex injection-molded plastic assemblies for fluid handling applications.
Drive products from concept through testing, validation, and commercialization.
Conduct hands‑on design verification, failure analysis, and root cause investigations.
Develop and improve mechanical design standards and best practices.
Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and collaborate closely with manufacturing and operations.
Lead SolidWorks best practices and help improve CAD workflows across the engineering team.
Work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, quality, program management, and suppliers to deliver successful product launches.
Support engineering change management, BOMs, and product releases within PLM/ERP systems.
What They’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
12+ years of mechanical product design experience.
5+ years designing Single‑Use Technology (SUT) products or similar fluid‑handling assemblies.
Strong experience designing injection‑molded plastic parts and assemblies.
Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance stack‑up analysis, and product optimization.
Advanced SolidWorks experience with large assemblies and complex modeling.
Hands‑on experience with design validation, testing, and failure analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical findings.
Experience working within Agile/SCRUM development environments is a plus.
Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, bioprocessing, or life sciences is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience Bioprocessing or single‑use medical products
ISO 13485 or similar regulated environments
PLM and ERP systems
Establishing engineering standards and design guidelines
If your background includes designing complex plastic products for fluid handling, medical devices, or bioprocessing applications—and you’d enjoy helping shape the future of a growing engineering organization—I would enjoy speaking with you.
