Software Developer - Java

Software Engineer Randstad is partnering with a retail firm that is looking to hire a contract Software Engineer. This role is responsible for using technical skills to deliver integrations and support debugging and scripting. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration or Batch. Job description: Build and maintain message configuration and flows Provide issue analysis on Kafka applications Translate written requirements and specifications Develop software on written requirements Assist with MDM strategy and Process design Run unit tests Document tests and present findings Collaborate with team members for operations support Maintain the performance of applications and databases Understanding of file transfer processes and integration designs and ability to work with Integration SMEs to create designs for solutions between 2 products Create detailed technical specifications, test plans, deployment instructions, and other technical documentation as needed Experience with security & compliance practices is a plus Assist with defect triage and resolution during QA, UAT, and performance testing, partnering with infrastructure teams such as network engineers, server, and database administrators Experience in agile software development and continuous improvement concepts is a plus Review code and provide feedback relative to best practices and improving performance Strong analytical skills, ability to solve problems, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to do well in a high-pressure environment Qualifications: 5-8 years of Engineering experience in relevant technical domain 5-8 years of Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Integration or Batch, etc. Write well-structured, quality code that’s easily maintainable by others Write code that interacts with various HTTP-based API’s, primarily REST-based Experience in developing publisher and consumer applications that interact with Kafka or other messaging middleware like RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, etc. Advance skills in XML, XSD, SOAP, Restful API design and architecture, Java, and Webservices Experience with SQL and Relational databases like Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
