Sr. Software Development Engineer, Senior Leader Experiences, Shared Services Job ID: 10452341 | Services LLC As part of the Amazon-wide Amzonian Leadership Experiences team, the Shared Services team’s mission is to build cross-cutting capabilities across STT that enable partner teams with out-of-box functions. We develop philosophies, mechanisms and products that guide leaders to inspect and make data-driven decisions to improve their organizational operating models, executive talent and workforce planning solutions. A successful candidate will lead the development and launch of core product features, design system architecture, and promote code quality and best practices. You are passionate about the customer experience, take pride in building high quality software, and have a demonstrable track record of successfully delivering new features and products. You value collaboration, data-driven decisions, and can comfortably communicate with others in both technical and non‑technical roles. Key Responsibilities Proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages; expert level in at least one. Work closely with senior engineers, UX designers and product managers to develop user-friendly UI experiences. Collaborate with engineers to architect and develop optimal technical designs. Take user-facing features from design to implementation, coding both UI and backend functionality. Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability within Amazon Search stack. Maintain operational rigor for a fast-growing stack. Help with hiring and mentoring, and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing. Self-directed, thrive in an environment where problems are open-ended and work is not bound by legacy code. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of professional software development experience. 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language. 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems. Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations. Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Location & Compensation USA, WA, Seattle – Salary range: 168,100.00 – 227,400.00 USD annually.
