The position oversees all K–12 robotics programs, including FIRST LEGO League Explore, FIRST LEGO League Challenge, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FIRST Robotics Competition. It ensures program fidelity, alignment with district goals, and high‑quality implementation across participating schools. Additionally, the Technology Program Manager administers the Computer Science initiatives (Amazon Future Engineer program) in elementary and middle schools, oversees AI4GA implementation in middle schools, plans and hosts district and regional robotics competitions, and directly supervises instructional staff at the Coca‑Cola Space Science Center. The role serves as key liaison between schools, community partners, post‑secondary institutions, and industry to expand student access to high‑quality STEM, robotics, and AI learning experiences. Requirements Educational Level: Master’s degree in a job‑related area. Certifications/Licenses: Valid Georgia certification in Leadership; Valid driver’s license. Experience: At least five years of job‑related experience within a specialized field. Experience with FIRST Robotics programs (FLL, FTC, and/or FTC) is preferred; experience managing grants, partnerships, or externally funded programs is preferred; supervisory or program management experience is preferred. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong event planning and project management skills; strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail; time‑management skills; supervising, scheduling, and computer skills. Knowledge of K–12 robotics and STEM education pathways; ability to read technical information and facilitate group discussions. Ability to schedule and manage multiple large‑scale programs simultaneously, collaborate with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community partners, collate and analyze data, and maintain confidentiality. Essential Duties Ensure compliance with FIRST program requirements and provide district‑wide leadership and oversight for all robotics programs. Develop, implement, and monitor annual work plans for robotics coaches and sponsors. Coordinate registration, purchasing, budgeting, and inventory management for robotics equipment and materials. Plan, organize, and host district, regional, and invitational robotics competitions and showcases, coordinating venues, volunteers, judges, field setup, schedules, logistics, and safety plans. Ensure events reflect district standards for student engagement, equity, and professionalism. Manage implementation of the Amazon Future Engineer program in elementary and middle schools, coordinating teacher training, curriculum resources, and program. Attend regular meetings to collaborate and oversee implementation of AI4GA in middle schools, including supporting teachers with curriculum integration, instructional resources, and professional learning. Collaborate with district leadership on emerging AI initiatives and responsible AI practices. Directly supervise one (1) full‑time staff member and one (1) 49% Teacher on Assignment assigned to the Coca‑Cola Space Science Center by conducting performance evaluations, providing coaching and feedback, and supporting professional growth. Build and maintain partnerships with businesses, industry, higher education, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders. Support grant development, sponsorships, and external funding opportunities related to robotics, STEM, and AI initiatives. Serve as the district point of contact and represent the district at local, regional, and state STEM and robotics meetings and events. Collect and analyze participation, performance, and program outcome data. Prepare reports for district leadership, grants, and external partners. Perform other duties as assigned to support district STEM, CTAE, and innovation initiatives. Maintain daily attendance and punctuality to meet work unit goals. Frequent travel between schools and district sites. Work evenings and weekends during robotics competitions and events. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
