Job Function Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties. Essential Duties Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders. Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed. Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures. Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards. Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements. Properly stencils shipping information as required. Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned. Maintains clean work area. Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures. Participates in TQM and SPC meetings. May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time. Required Skills EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred. OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.
